they feel really awkward at first, and they hurt a lot.





the bar i'm not sure about, perhaps the one that keeps the brackets together, is well, for keeping the brackets attached to each other.





i have no idea what a palette expander is.





getting braces tightened is something that hurts for a few days if you're not used to them, but after a while, it only hurts for about a day.





i'm not sure how to fix your jawbone problem. sorry
Reply:braces dont feel that bad...i had them for 2 years and just got them off....when you first goet them on they are a little sore...and sometimes they can cut up your mouth but you get used to it.


when you get them tightened your mouth is sore and pressured for a few days but thats it.
Reply:When you first get the braces put on your teeth hurt for a little bit and you will find it hard to eat but it will get better. When they tighten mine they take the wire out and replace it with another one. When i open my mouth wide it clicks but there is no discomfort and the dentist knows this and doesn't think its too much of a problem because you don't go around with your mouth really wide open. Not too sure what a palette expander is
Reply:a palatal expander is a thing that stretches your jaw. it is place on the roof of your mouth. braces hurt for 3 days and when you get then you should take some advil or some pain killer if it bothers you that much. when you get it tightened it'll feel like getting braces again. the palatal divider should help that jawbone thing

palette expander literally makes the roof of your mouth bigger so it can fit all of your teeth.





i havent had one...but i heard that you're sore if you have one of those.





if your jawbone moves? ask your ortho. about that. i'm not really sure. sorry.
