Braces....?

ok so i got braces but my ortho didn't mention anything about o rings....do all ppl who have braces get o rings?

O-rings are just the little bands that go around the bracket to hold the wire in place, sometimes an o-ring is used and sometimes the wire it tied in with a thin metal wire. Another use for an o-ring is as a separator placed between the teeth to create space for placement of bands. Separators are usually placed between the teeth a week before bands are scheduled to be cemented to the teeth.
Reply:i have braces but i dont think i know what an 0 ring is it. if you're answer doesnt get answered explain it to me. then i may know.
