Braces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I know i have asked a lot of questions about braces but i want to know more about them. Tell me anything you know about braces. Thanks!

Braces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
there's alot to know about braces... here's the basic things u need to know... there are different kinds of braces.. the regular one (silver), the porcelain braces (makes u look like u only have retainers on), the braces with the head gear, and the one with the braces up to ur spine thing (the last two are for hard cases)... it's best to consult an orthodontist first to know what's the case on ur teeth,... they have ur teeth x-rayed and make some sample of ur original teeths, it hurts at first when they try to put these rubber things in between ur last molar to make some space, u'll have a hard time eating at first, but you'll get used to it, makes u loose weight (not intentionally) but u will due to loss of appetite coz of the pain (ur lucky if u have high tolerance for pain like i do... if not pain killers are ur best friend), first few weeks all u can eat are soft and liquid foods... coz u'll feel like if u bite something ur teeth are going to break into pieces but they're not they're just a little brittle, u can have fun with the choosing of elastics to put on u can have different colors or transparent ones, if u go regularly and never miss an appointment u'll be done in 2 yrs... but if ur teeth are very cooperative u'll be done in 1 yr year... it doesn't really hurt when u have braces on it's just the adjustments.... u'll have to figure out how to eat without having any food go in between ur brackets... and if u have impacted tooths (second molars, the one's that hasn't come out yet, you'll find out in you x-ray it usally four but if your lucky that u have none the better), you'll have to get dental surgery to remove it so that when ur finished with ur retainers it won't go back the way it used too coz impacted tooths pushes ur teeths forward.... hope this helps
Reply:oh ive had braces!!!!

wel u hav to ask me wat u wnt to know really i cnt say EVERYTHING!!
Reply:They are a pain in the buttom, but they are worth it. I can see differences only after 6 weeks and I keep mine for 2 years. I can almost imagine myself with perfect teeth
Reply:I had braces from the fourth grade to the seventh grade. Getting them put on was less than a fun experience and I couldn't eat much more than yogurt and pudding for about five days. After that i didn't have much trouble with them except when they changed the wires, which was also pretty painful. Also, the brackets tend to dig into your cheeks and that isn't very comfortable. Getting them off was really exciting though. They use this little tool, sort of like a wrench, and squeezed the brackets until they popped right off.
Reply:they are a huge pain

u need to keep them clean (just brush)

they are worth it even when u want to rip them off when ur get them tightened

the retainer after is inclredibly annoying, you'll be lucky if u dont have to wear it for the rest of ur life like i do because my teeth were so bad

and if u dont wear the retainer ur teeth will be back to the way they started
Reply:i have had my braces on since August of '06. If you already have them on then you know how they feel. My orthodontist says when you get them tightened to take pain relievers before you go and then chew gum after because it keeps your gums loose. I know it sounds crazy but it works. The more and more you break a braquet the longer you have to have them on for. Don't brush your teeth with whitening toothpaste or rinse them with a type of whitening mouthwash because when you get your braces off then their will be a spot of food and drink stains where the braquet once was. This happens because the rest of your tooth is whiter from the toothpaste.
