Braces??????

i have to get braces in about a week and i was wondering a lot of things. whats the process of putting on braces? does it hurt when they put them on? does it hurt after? any advice or comments are appreciated. what color do u think looks the best? im 12.

Braces don’t hurt when they put it on. At first it might feel weird in your mouth, but later you will get use to it. A few hours later it starts hurting. The next day is the WORST because it hurts so badly. Take some Advil or some pain pills. Then the 3rd day it kind of get better. You will get cuts in your mouth, but use the braces wax. I tried to use the braces wax, but it doesn’t stay on %26amp; don't worry if you swallowed it because nothing will happen. Later on you won’t get cuts because you build up tougher skin. I know what it's called, it starts w/ a C. It will hurt for a couple of days, but days %26amp; days past by it will get better. You won't even notice you have braces on. Probably they will be sore for about 3-7 days. For the first couple of days, you should eat soft food. You could eat food like oatmeal, mash potatoes, porridge, banana %26amp; other soft food.
Reply:Hey! I had braces! Anyway, the braces don't really hurt when they put them on. They use glue to stick metal plates that hold the wires in place. Your mouth may be sore afterwards, but thats the worst of it! The best color I think is red.

Reply:i just got mine on a week ago. they hurt for the first 3 days or so put then your mouth gets used to them! eat as much as u can right after u get them on cause they dont hurt right after but they do the next day and then ur not gonna wanna eat cause it hurts
Reply:I have braces, I don't remember what the process is but it doesn't hurt while the orthodontist is putting them on, but it hurts after. Your orthodontist will most probably tell you what to take if your teeth are hurting a lot. You will get use to them after a while. Good Luck!!
Reply:Don't be overly nervous about braces, they're a part of life many people go through. When they first put them on, they use this blue cement to hold them in place. The cement dries to a white color, it doesn't stay blue. All of the individual brackets are placed normally close to the center of the tooth, they use this special light that emits a blue color to attach them. At first it feels very weird b/c you can feel the brackets resting on your lips. Once they put the wires in you'll feel some pressure, make sure to take Motrin/Advil a little bit before the appointment if you can (talk to your parent about that). You'll eventually get used to the braces, the way they feel, and the tightening of the wires. It's very much worth it when you have your new beautiful smile to show off to everyone.

get dark colors, light just gets and looks WAY too dirty!


it does not hurt when you get them on, but the day after it hurts like heck!(just the truth, not meant 2 scare u!)


wax, for me does not work because it always falls off, but you should maybee just try it, if it does not work, just ask your dentist if he would suggest anything else

Reply:uhh no it doesn't hurt at all.. takes about 2 hours... and yes your teeth will be sore for a week or so. For the first day your gonna wanna pull them off.. they'll bug you like crazy. Whatever color you want! They'll give you lots of color choices =)
Reply:When they put braces on they glue the brackets on your teeth, which are little silver squares, and then they put the wire through and then but the colored bands on them. It doesn't hurt much when you first get them on but a couple of hours later they will start to hurt. But the best advice is the first couple of days you should try to just eat stuff like apple sause and soup and stuff like that would make it hurt less. And chop your food up if you need to. It helps in the long run to not hurt more.

Reply:Well it doesnt hurt when you get the braces on but it does REALLY hurt after the procces is done. The day after and i couldnt eat for a few days same with my bottoms. well i suggest to get a darker color because it is less noticable i made that mystake but i would say a teal. any more questions just ask me and beleive me i know.
Reply:i got braces 2 days ago! i was worried as well,but it doesn't hurt putting them on. they'll do a mouth stretcher thing, that hurts a little. then they just put the glue and brackets on. after they take the mouth thing on your mouth will be sore and and stuck in that position. It wont hurt for the first hour or so but then it'll start to hurt. Just take some Advil or something to take away the pain for about 3 hours. my colors are red an blue. but like around Christmas you can get red and green, or Halloween can be orange and black, just be creative. but it does take some time to get used to the braces, i have not yet but I'm getting pretty close. Remember to stay away from anything you cant split in half with your hands( that's what they told me) some ships are good,like lays or sun chips, but ask your doctor about that. Hope this helps bye!!

they do not hurt when they are bein put on. they hurt alot like the first through 5 or 6 days. i think im gonna get navy blue and hot pink. what kind of colors do you want to get? follow your heart.
