it feels so good for my mouth.

so what CAN i eat.

please detailed answers.

i need all the help i can get.

new to braces. =\

Braces...?
You can eat mashed potatoes, yogurt, porridge, oatmeal. Try biting down less too.
Reply:You may when you first get it in, but after a month if you are talking weird you shud be back to normal. Just try not to talk really fast.
Reply:I had braces too and all the lovely little rubber bands that are pulling from one side to the other making my mouth hurt like h@!# but it was worth it.

Honestly they gave me a list of the do not eat foods and I didn't pay them no mind. I ate whatever I wanted to eat. They say don't eat chips, but I did and I was fine. I just didn't bite into anything hard that was obviously going to break my brackets...like an apple or something.

I say if ice cream feels good to your mouth because it's sore, than go for it. That is what helped me out most of the time too. That and ice. Just be sure not the crunch the ice because that will break a bracket, but sucking on a piece of ice will do wonders for your sore teeth.

BTW I have never broken a bracket in the 2 years of braces. Just use common sense when choosing what foods to eat. NOW GO HAVE SOME ICE CREAM! :)
Reply:i had the expander thing too, and dont worry nothing will happen...just avoid straws at first

soon you will just naturally learn

use ACT mouthwash and for the first hour, ur teeth may be a little numb so drink mainly fluids-clear fluids

then for the first day or 2 ur teeth may be a little sensitive so stick with eating soup, pasta, pudding, jello, beans, yogurt, custard, fries, milkshakes, ice cream, and soft foods-avoid straws

every night use Peroxyl mouthwash for like a week to keep ur gums storng from cuts and use dental wax and rubber coverups so u wont get blisters, they hurt a little but arent that bad. avoid sleeping on ur side, try to keep ur head straight up for a couple of days

every morning and every night use the Peroxyl mouthwash again for 2 weeks then after that just use ACT mouthwash to keep ur teeth and gums healthy. get some Super floss, made for braces-i sugest elictrical toothbrushes they keep ur mouth cleaner

dont worry-trust me- i have had my braces on for almost 4 years, i just got em off about four months ago-i luv my new smile!!!
