Braces ?????

so im supposed to be getting braces around march-may, i am getting x-rays molds and fittings in march do i need to get my teeth pulled before this? because they said i need a few teeth pulled before i get my braces, will the orthodontist pull them 4 me ?

i had to get two teeth pulled when i got my braces and my normal dentist did them, not the orthodontist.





your ortho will only deal with the braces, and your retainer later on. your ortho should have told your dentist what teeth you need pulled and when, so all this should be organised for you.

Reply:Usually the orthodontist will be in contact with your dentist and your dentist will pull the teeth. My daughter has had braces for a few months now and they haven't pull the teeth out yet so I think you just have to ask your orthodontist
Reply:Maybe, maybe not. Our orthodontist sent our son to his regular dentist for that.





I'm super-scared of dentists, but I can tell you honestly that I got those four teeth pulled, and it DIDN"T HURT! They stopped bleeding immediately and as long as I kept rinsing my mouth (to keep food out of the area), they healed in no time flat. It's a no brainer.

Reply:Your dentist will pull your teeth. Your Orthodontist only works with retainers and braces to correct the cosmetics of your teeth. You will be glad you went through all of this. Nothing is more beautiful than a smile.
Reply:nope. you gotta go to a maxofacial surgeon to get anything pulled. make sure it is what you want... those invisible braces do alot less damage to teeth...think about it... i had braces, and didnt take that great of care in cleaning them for 10 min a day, and my enamel was weakened after... 3000 dollar dentist bill that i had to pay later on...
Reply:You will have to ask your orthodontist. I know people that have had them pulled out before the braces and some have had them pulled after the braces were put on. I had to have two teeth pulled before I got my braces. The orthodontist will refer you back to your dentist to have the teeth pulled.
