Braces?....?

im gettin braces and i have my spacers in now an last night i went to bed an they still really hurt and i couldnt sleep will i get use to spacers and do braces hurt?

yes spacers do hurt but you will get use to them and the pain does die away in about 48-72 hours. the braces hurt tho too. after you get them on and when they are tightened.

Reply:You will get used to the spacers, but it's keeping you up try taking some tylenol or something. Braces can and do hurt I'm afraid. Be prepared to go in once a month for a tightening which is the worse. But the results are worth it.... I had braces and everyone says they can't believe how great my teeth look now.
Reply:They hurt the day after and they feel realy odd so STOCK UP ON JELLY and other food like that... I call it "the smushie food diet" and you usually have to do that the day after you get them and sometimes after you get them tightened... also they can randomly hurt but are usually fine... I got mine in December so i'm sought of new to them but i know whats what.
Reply:Getting the braces doesn't hurt, the only thing that is really painful is getting new bands across the brackets which tightens the teeth pulling them together. But just take a pain reliever and you will be good to go. After a while you won't even notice the spacers and when they are taken out, you'll be like, woah. I had an extender which was a pain. Had to widen my upper jaw because it was smaller than the bottom. But yeah. It won't hurt all that bad. And the end result will be so worth it.
