Braces!!!!!!?

im a guy 15 and i have a big over bite and i need braces do i have to get headgear before braces thanks for answers

probabaly you will get your top braces. then soon after like a few weeks your bottoms ones. Then after a bit go on rubber bands, which help pull your jaw in the angle its suppsed to be in (since you have an over bite). Not too worry everyone gets used to these rubber bands they are like little clear bands thats go from the top of your jaw to the bottom that are disposable. After that i think thay will probably take you off the rubber bands but keep you on the braces. Then they will most likely take off the braces, and make you wear a reatiner (a clear dish to attch to the bottom of ur teeth) only while you are sleeping though,





Id say the whole process will take about 3 years. Give or take a few monthes, and depending on if you wear the rubber bands cuz if u dont wear them it will take longer.
Reply:no, you don't have to get headgear, that's if you have BIG problems in your mouth. I had to ge braces for an overbite too.

Reply:you probably won't have to, it depends on your teeth. they have a different tool that does that. even if you did have to get one you usually olny have to wear it at night, my friend had one.
Reply:well it all depends how big your overbite is. i had a pretty big over bite when i was 11. i am 12 now and i have top and bottom braces. i don't need my headgear any more, but i only needed to have it on when i sleep. so don't worry it will probably only be when you go to sleep when none of your friends will see you.
Reply:No one wears head gears nowadays, and the new "head gears" go around your neck.





100 percent guaranteed that you won't need a head gear.
Reply:they probably won't start u off right away with head gear, just elastics. if u wear the head gear 22 hours a day 7 days a week, u might not even need headgear.wen i got my braces on,(i have a big overbite 2), they started me off with just elastics and now(1 month later) i barely even hav a over bite now. good luck.
