Braces....?

So.. im getting braces.Right before I go into the 9th grade ! =[ . ANYWAYS.. %26amp; the orthodontic guy said i might have to get two teeth pulled (bc my teeth are a llittle crowded) and, get braces of course with these springs in the back? .. i have to get my first premolars pulled out! i already had my 1st visit.. which i got molds of my teeth, Xrays, and stuff. I have my 2nd visit tomorrow. Idk what he's going to do.. My mom said he will probably just talk about braces %26amp; things.. but Idk if he's going to pull out my teeth? What do you think? What happens on the 2nd visit usually?

I had braces when I was in grades 6-9. I've been where you are. Orthodontists are specialized in braces and things like that. You would probably go to a regular Dentist (like I did) to have teeth pulled and a Maxofacial Surgeon to have teeth that are harder to remove drilled out (like wisdom teeth, those were lots of fun). Having an Orthodontist pull teeth would be like going to the Gynecologist for an ear infection.





On my second visit, I think it was just a review of the molds they made and the x-rays they took. The Orthodontist must act with a plan on how he/she plans to fix your teeth. It takes some time. In my opinion, the third visit might be when things start to happen, but only after the teeth you need pulled have been removed.

Reply:I understand the feeling of having to go through getting braces. The fear of having to deal with pain and what your mouth might look like when you smile. Usually the orthodontis will refer you to someone who specialist in pulling teeth. It is more likely that you will see him about braces and referring you to specialist in pulling teeth. I wouldn't worry so much about your 2nd visit.
Reply:your orthodontist cant pull out your teeth, thats for sure(assuming you got your molds and xrays at the orthodontists place and your going back tommorrow) my first visit is the xrays and stuff, second visit was after the teeth were pulled from the dentist, ortho and dentist is different. so yeah unless your orthodontist has a specialist that pulls out teeth, youll probly just listent o him blabber on or hell check out your teeth
Reply:Dont worry... im getting braces too, actually on monday and yeah i just got my tooth pulled out...my last one. If you do get it pulled tommorow...dont worry it doesnt hurt as much as i made a fool out of myslef bye crying in the chair...dont do the same hting i did it didnt hurt and my dentist comforted me alot. So dont worry and whenever ur appointment it to get them on your teeth will have to be pulled before that!
Reply:The orthodontist wont pull your teeth out but you might be getting spacers. They only take a few minutes to put in.
