Braces?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!...

I need all the advice u can give me Im getting my braces on Thursday and I really need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Braces?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!...
Relax each person's experience is different. My daughter was SCARED at first. But when she went in and had them placed she was fine. They didn't hurt her. I think what hurt the most was when they told her she couldn't eat snicker bars!!! You can't eat nuts, caramel, popcorn and a few other chewy things. That's because particles can become stuck in between the brace and a tooth, and it can decay the tooth and cause many problems.

Make sure you carry a toothbrush at all times. And make sure you brush your teeth after you eat ANYTHING!

The only thing that was a bit uncomfortable for my daughter was the bite plate but not everyone gets one. Just go in there relaxed and just follow the instructions the orthodontist gives you. If you need to eat candy try to go for the sugar free ones and just brush your teeth. You might also be given a special toothpaste to use at night.

If you play sports you are going to need a mouth guard to protect your teeth. Make sure you go to all of your appointments so that your teeth get straightened safely and quickly. I hope this helps.
Reply:Relax! Your gonna be just fine! I had braces and everybody told me "oh, you are gonna be so sore!" yeah, well, that was great encouragement. But, guess what?? I wasn't sore. You need to make sure that ask your orthodonist for wax. He'll konw what your talking about. Make sure to always brush your teeth so that you don't a get a yellow stain around where the braces where. Just have fun with 'em! My sister has them now, and she loves it!! Good Luck!! : ))
Reply:Braces aren't that bad. I had them for 2 years. They don't hurt except the days you tighten them. Then you can't eat anything that day except soup because you don't want to bite anything.

You can't eat corn on the cob or pretty much anything really crunchy..you're not supposed to chew gum, but I did it anyway. Good luck.. hopefully you don't need spacers, because my sister said those hurt.
Reply:well when you first get them there gonna hurt for a little while.Depending on the person it might not hurt.Once every month your gonna go in to get them tightened. Later on after a few months or so you get rubber bands thats suppose to fix your jaw.My orthodontist told me it takes about 6 weeks so.They give you a tiny bag with alot of rubber bands. You have to be sure that you wear them all the time but change them every few hours because the springyness.Oh %26amp; make sure you brush your teeth.
Reply:There are a little inconvenient at first, but you will get used to it
