Braces!!!!?

Okay, i have to get braces really bad, but i don't understand how they are going to put them on my teeth. My bottom teeth have a bad crowding! Can somone please tell me how that is going to work out?

They may give you a retainer to push the teeth out, then put the braces on to push them back into order.
Reply:The metal brackets are cemented to the front of your teeth and then connected by a wire across the front. The only brackets that go completely around the tooth are the last molars in the back. Before they do any of this, they will put spacers between the teeth that they need to for about a week or two. It takes a while, but it doesn't really hurt. I had a horrible teeth crowding also, but braces did fix it. It's cool around the holidays they can put different color brackets on the front teeth. It sounds stupid, but when you have them for a long time, it gives it a little change.


Good Luck, and don't worry it sounds worse than it really is to get braces. I'm glad I had them.

Reply:well they pretty much cement them to each individual tooth and put the band in. The band wants to retain it's original shape which should give you straight teeth. If your teeth are too crowded they might have to pull some out, but that's not as bad as it sounds. I had braces and about the first week sucks. I ate mostly pudding and thought I would never eat solid food again. Bottom line though if you need braces and can afford them get em'.

Reply:I've had braces a year now. cuz my teeth were crowded and cricked. so i had them put in. first they put a device in ur mouth makes ur teeth exposed. they they dry ur tooth and they put glue on it and they press the bracket on. WARNING don't even try to taste the glue. okay so they do that to all of ur teeth and then they connect the wires and tighten every tooth. it's gonna hurt big time for a week to a month. so get ur pain meds. then after that u might have to go every month for tighting. GOOD LUCK
Reply:I had a lot crowding on my bottom teeth too. The brackets and wires took care of that crowding in no time. It looks a little weird at first but it will straighten your teeth. Good luck.
Reply:The brackets are glued to the front of your teeth and then wire is slid through to connect the brackets. I got braces 2 yrs ago and I have never regretted it.
