Im getting braces soon.....does it hurt?
Braces????
I would definitely not say it hurts, sometimes the procedures you have done make your mouth really uncomfortable as some have mentioned such as when you have to have your braces tightened. Getting them on didn't hurt at all. A few hours afterwards, my mouth was pretty sore, but you can use Chloroseptic spray (sp?) Its a sore throat spray, but if you read the label, it says it can help with orthodontics, if you spray it on your teeth, it really knocks out a great deal of the pain right away, I also would suggest taking a few pain pills, such as Advil right before you go in. Whatever you do do not think that getting your braces is going to hurt, because I had a lot of people tell me they would, and they didn't hurt me bad at all. Don't let anybody scare you. Good Luck! :)
Reply:yes it hurts. they suck so bad, but hang in there. it will be worth it when they are done
Reply:If your put under sleep probably no
Reply:It hurts the first 3-4 days that they are first put or adjusted, other than that, the don't hurt.
Reply:for the first week, but its not so bad afterwards.
Reply:Nope.....The only thing that is mildly discomforting is when they have to tighten the wires to move your teeth. It may or may not be discomfortable to you at that time.
Reply:they hurt a little in the begining. it mostly feels tight though. dont be scared. the most you should be worried about is making sure they dont cut your gums. wax helps that though. good luck:)
Reply:I really think it depends. I was in a good amount of pain (not to scare you), but some people didn't think it was too bad. I would suggest taking Advil before you head to the ortho and eating something substantial as soon as you get out of the ortho. I found that the pain would get worse as the hours went on. Enjoy ice cream and mashed potatos. Good luck and I hope you are not in too much pain!
Reply:It does hurt some. It's not horrible, but it's not very fun either.
Reply:yup but eat ice cream and cold things to num ur mouth !!
