Braces...........................

how come when they put those rubber bands on the hooks on the brackets, (on both bottem and top teeth),

Well, how come they hurt so much, im really confused, people say that its the worse on what they put on the braces/brackets..

but my question is "how come it hurts so much, and why is it the worse???"

Braces...........................
Hurts so much because you teeth are moving the most and the fastest at this point.
Reply:they put rubber bands on so the brace isn't so sharpe. It hurts because your teeth are moving it should where off in a few days.
Reply:they never hurt me ..
Reply:I had braces for four years, hurts but you'll get used to it. Hint I used a soft tooth brush to rub my gum's with and bite on when they hurt the most. I know it sound weird but it helped. also baby teething gel could help relieve some of your discomfort. Good luck and believe me it's worth the pain when it's all over. You'll have a great smile to remind you later.
Reply:When rubber bands or elastics as they are known in the dental field are placed on your teeth it is to shift your bite, you most likely had an under or over bite (your top teeth when you bite when behind your bottom teeth or vice verse). This is a painful process because your teeth are actually shifting into the proper biting position, once there they will no longer need to be worn and your orthodontist will make you aware of that when the time comes. Once in the proper biting position you will prevent unnecessary wear to your permanent teeth and you cosmetically will be happy (the overall look of the teeth). The more diligent you are with wearing these the faster you will get your braces off!! Good Luck!
Reply:Braces don't hurt when they put the brackets on.They hurt when the wirs gets into the bracket and they staarte to tighten up.
Reply:you put those rubber bands to pull your teeth straight. your a pain in the butt to wear but it didn't really hurt for me. you just have to get use to it
