Braces?????

I just got 4 teeth pulled earlier. (In about 10 minutes, including the numbing shot!) And I'm getting braces soon. How do they put the bands on? Does it hurt? Details please!

Braces?????
No. It doesn't really hurt when they put the bands and braces on, but you will feel the pain later that day or the next several days. Try eating really soft foods such as french fries, sandwiches and drinks mostly. Before they put the braces on, take some tylenol before you go to the orthodontist.

(I've had braces for one year now and thats what I did when they put them on and after.) I hope you listen to me because that worked really well for me.) (:
Reply:no i recently got braces. the process of them putting it on is so simple, you dont feel a thing!

but the next day, it starts to hurrt for a few days...but i couldnt even chew for three days.
Reply:if they used plastic rings the it doesnt hurt...slight discomfort will be there with steel wire.u cant chew the food for 1-2 days aftr putting brace .feel comfortable with plastics rings in brac.once u will complete the treatment u will look great no doubt .best of luck.
Reply:they take a mold of your teeth and they make a thing that has the braces in it and u bite onto it and they shoot it with a light and they just stick right on. They don't hurt but they taste bad and you wont be able to eat anything hard for a week, (you teeth will feel sore because they aren't used to the braces)

Don't Worry bout it, it's nothing huge

I get mine off march 2008
Reply:The bands don't hurt... I think you mean the little elastic bands... they are put in to make a little space in between the teeth so that the orthodontist can fix a bracket around your teeth (two in the back)... then after a few days (after they put the bands)... you'll have to go in to get your braces fixed (the brackets and the wires and stuff)... Hope that helps!

Good luck with your braces- its worth it! :D
Reply:Braces are not as bad as they seem.

When you first get them on they hurt for about a week or two, so eat soft foods. At first you probably wont like what they look like but you will get used to them and eventually be grateful you had them. Every time you go and get them tightened they will be sore, but nothing really compares to the pain you will have the first couple of days you get them.
