Braces??????
yes its almost like beeing killed

just joking it is bad for the first 3 months "plz do not eat something hard u will be in alot of pain ok" but after 3 months it is getting in your whay but if they make changes it will be painfull.
Reply:They hurt when you get them put in, and also when you get them tightend. Thanks for 2 points.
Reply:well, some for some people it really hurts, i didnt have any problemns with them. howveer when the bands were changed i could feel the tension on my teeth, so i would numb my teeth by like sucking on a piece of ice or eating ice cream. also the wax is very helpful, becuase the braces can cut up your gums.
Reply:They don't hurt. The only time they cause some discomfort is when the dentist goes to adjust them. Adjustments will be needed regularly. There will be extra care to keep them clean. I had braces like 12 years ago i dont believe they changed much
Reply:Trust me THEY HURT!
Reply:well when you first get them in, they may feel uncomfortable and scrape your mouth so you have to put some wax on. you'll pay a lot of attention to them, but you'll definitely get adjusted to them. when your wires or rubber bands are being tightened or stretched out, it'll ache for a few days, so take a pain reliever.
Reply:it doesn't hurt when they put them on, but it might hurt a couple hours after and you can take some advil or something. you probably won't really be able to eat properly for a couple days. they might cut your mouth up a bit, but you have wax. but it's worth it in the end.
Reply:I've had braces for about four years, and they are off now, so I can tell you from MY experience what they were like (I am not sure if your experience will be the same). Braces do not hurt, but they will feel a little funny the first day that you have them, because you are not used to having foreign objects in your mouth. To me, it felt like something rubbing against the sides of my mouth and lips. You will get over the funny feeling in a short amount of time, and like I said, it is not a painful feeling. There are two parts to your braces, which are the brackets themselves (the squares that you see on each tooth) and the wire that slides between all of the brackets. When you go for visits, they will sometimes change the wire, especially if it is lose, or they will tighten up the one you already have. When they tighten the wires, which happens during most visits, you will feel some pressure on your teeth. Don't be afraid by what I just said, it is just like taking your fingers and pushing on your teeth. If you have your wires tightened and go home, your teeth will most likely start to feel a little sore. They usually recommend Tylenol or Advil to ease up on the pressure. It's not really painful, it's just a little bit of an annoyance when you are trying to eat. By the next day, your teeth will be fine again. The only other aspect of braces I can warn you about is the wires poking the sides of your mouths. Sometimes the end of the wires will stick out and rub up against the side of your mouth, which can be really annoying. Just make sure to tell your orthodontist, and they will cut the ends of the wire so that it won't rub up against your mouth. By the way, the best part about braces is choosing the different colors :).
Reply:hmmm...braces...

well, i got mine on 3 years ago...and yes, they did hurt. but for me, that was partly because they were pulling a tooth down with a surgical bracket which hurt A LOT!

stick with soft foods at first, brush WELL or your teeth will be gross and discolored...

good luck!!! i'm here for braces help if ya need it, so feel free to email me.
