Braces?????

Im 2 days i got to have braces


their putting the top one on first then next mounth theyl fit the bottom ones on


( Im having the train track type )


can u tel me how they put them on ?


does it hurt ?


what colours are there ?


will i be able to french kiss wiv my boyfriend ?


can i use and electric toothbrush on them?


Please help


as you can i see i havent got a clue :(

Really what they do is put something in ur mouth which keeps ur mouth open and then they put first the braces glue and then stick the brackets on. And will take about 20 mins. It will hurt for the first week and gradually it will stop hurting. U can have any colour (i recommend blue, pink- nice colours). And u will be able to french kiss and u can use a special othro electric brush.

Reply:First of all, dont stress!! Your orthodontist will go over all of these things with you and you can ask any questions you may have! But, here are a few things they may not go over:





1) Dont get colors on your braces...thats just tacky.


2) YES...you can still kiss your bf!!! Just be careful...


3) ITS GOING TO HURT. Im not going to lie to you, it hurts like hell. Take a few Advil before you even go to your appointments!


4) EAT NOW!!! Chips, tacos, spinach dip, steak, corn on the cobb, hard candy, popcorn...eat it while you still can. Also make sure you eat before you go to your appointments because your mouth will hurt too much too eat afterwards.


5) SMILE!! Dont hide that bling girl!!! Braces are nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed by!
Reply:Hey, I'll be honest with you, they do hurt when you get them tightened. It doesn't hurt straight away, but the next day it will be pretty sore (but it's not unbearable pain) but you will pretty much only be able to eat very soft foods for 24 hours, then it will be fine.





They put them on by attaching the braces to your teeth with glue, then they put the wire on and that is attached to metal bands on your back teeth. Every time you get them tightened they will just rplace the wire, the rest never comes off until the time comes for your braces to be removed (unless one breaks off accidentally)





Theres pretty much every colour under the sun for the bands they fix them on with but you are probably better going for clear ones. You will still be able to french kiss your boyfriend, so no problems there, but you wont be able to use an electric toothbrush, you will have to buy a special toothbrush for braces (they have them at the dentists)

Reply:OK....they put this thing in you mouth that holds your lips really far out so they won't get glue on them. Then they put glue on your teeth and put silver braces on. then they put a wire through a hole in each brace. they trim the edges. they ask you to pick 2 colours and whatever you pick, you get rubberbands of those colours on the silver braces to hold the wire on.


I wouldnt recomend french kissing [his lips stuck on your braces may cause a break up].


Yes you can use an electrical toothbrush.
Reply:1. The process really does not take that long. If they have not done so already, they first take molds of your teeth with this cool mushy purple stuff. Then they put this special liquid/glue on your teeth and they use this lip stretcher and it holds your lips open. The they place a metal bracket onto each tooth. When they finish it they put a wire through it. You may or may not need to get spacers. Oh! Before they put on the brackets they have to fit this metal band around your molars.





2. It doesn't hurt when they actually put it on, but a couple of hours later it is like hell. lol. just take a pill and a nap and don't think about it.





3. Pretty much all colors. I don't think colors are corny. They make braces fun!





4. Ya I think you will be able to smooch... depends if he has braces 2.





5. Yep... You can... (I think lol)
