Braces!!??!!?

ok my braces are like killing me and i was wondering if there was any meds other than motion or teyol that can help?

Braces!!??!!?
It really depends when you got your braces on, if it was less than 2 weeks ago then sorry but thats normal, you've just got to grin and bear it until it stops. If you've had braces for a while then it's probably best to make an appointment with your orthodontist. In the meantime, ice cream really helps (no kidding, its perfect for soothing your mouth, I've had experience!!) and also just take lots of Advil or Nurofen, any pain killer really. Hot drinks like tea and coffee also help sooth your mouth.

I hope you feel better, don't worry, they won't be on forever xx
Reply:I would report this to your Dentist, because the bracer maybe too small or your teeth may have straightened out a little causing tension.
Reply:usually if they start hurting, it wears off within 1-2 days (I've had braces twice now). But it can do this many times, especially when you go back to get them tightened. I use Advil and sometimes drink some hot tea to take my mind off the pain. The tea works pretty well, but you have to be relaxed and just think about the taste. Good luck.
Reply:Not unless it's prescription. Just make sure to keep the meds in your system every 4 hours or as stated on the bottle.
Reply:take some pain killers you will only have the pain for a few days not long
Reply:call your densit i had the same problem they gave me medicine but you might need to go in just to have them look at it! hope you feel better!
Reply:well i currently have braces, and the first 3 days are usually are supposed to be killer. it'll go away and your teeth will get used to it. but if they still do after a while, tell your dentist. he will be able to help.
Reply:just take advil, they will kill for a few days, but sadly all you can really do is just not think about it, and try to do things to distract your from your pain.
Reply:Some advice is before you go to the ortho to get your braces adjusted take motrin before. Wax on the brackets help not to tear up the inside of your lips and putting oral gel on your gums also help.
