Braces!!!???

I am getting braces. I need to know everything. Especially WHAT COLOR SHOULD I GET????

i just got my braces on today! they dont hurt as much as people said they would, but im having a really hard time eating. it hurts to chew, so ive been eating mashed potatoes, soup, and jello lol. i think the experience is different for everyone though, depending on how bad your teeth are and how tolerant you are to pain. the process took about an hour, and the cementing solution they use to glue the brackets on is sour - but getting them on wasnt that bad overall. have chapstick for after because it makes your lips REALLY dry. if you dont want your braces to be very noticeable they offer ceramic braces which are clear brackets, but those are more expensive and can take longer to put on/ take off. i just went with silver bands on regular braces, i didnt want any color. if i did pick a color i would probably go with blue though, but thats just a personal preference. good luck! :]

Reply:they hurt when you get them tightend you will get used to it,you have to put wax on them so they wont cut your lip or inside your mouth the doctor should give you a list of things you cant eat.Also it depends if your a girlie girl get pink and purple if your a tom-boy get red and blue or get your two favriot colors.
Reply:I have braces also-- beware they're NOT fun the first 3 weeks, they cut my mouth! But, yes, if you put wax on them, sometimes it works. The 2nd time you get them tightened, it hurts pretty bad... but you get used to it. My first colors were pink %26amp; orange, then pink %26amp; lime, now its black %26amp; white!
Reply:don't get gold, gold is ugly. i think if you're a girl ya should get hot pink and lime green. just my oppinion though.
Reply:i always seem to get hot pink for sum reason. but yea it hurts for a while after u get em tightened. but after a year or so ull get used to em lol.
Reply:they put on braces by applying 3 different glues. These taste like crap and dont hurt. Then they stick the brackets on in the right places for your teeth to straighten. They then put the wire in and secure it with bands that can be different colors. a few days before they might put spacers (rubber bands) on your back teeth to get them ready them. after you get them on your teeth move and shift and it hurts a lot. some people say it feels fine and others have to stay home all day and take Advil. you might want painkillers or you might just suck it up and bear the pain. it depends on how tight they make the braces. you eat milkshakes, smoothies, jello, yogurt, pudding, applesauce and drinks for the first few days. Some people can start eating normal food but it still depends on how tight your braces are. they also tell you no eating popcorn, chips, gum, carrots gummy candy and everything else that ppl like to eat. the brackets usually dont break unless eat really hard candy (jawbreakers) and bite it





If you are getting "set" color braces you might want silver or red, 2 colors that arent too dark or light. if they are light, your food will stain it. If it is too dark, everyone will see it. If you are getting braces in which you can change the color, then you can change colors about every other month. You can model those after school vents, holidays, or what ever mood you are in

Reply:get silver. your braces will be the least noticeable that way because the brackets, wires, and ties will all be the same color. that is what I did for two and a half years.
Reply:hi! i just got braces today and i didn't feel ANYTHING when they put it on. i am having a lot of smooties now! i got red! i sugest not to get black or green beacuse it will look like you got stuff stuck in your teeth. at my orthadontist it tasted good when they put the braces in. LEMON YUM!
Reply:I have braces. They hurt for a few days after you get them on. You use wax and take an anti-inflammatory like Advil or Motrin to help decrease the pain. I got black and pink ligatures (the little elastics) around the brackets to keep the archwire in.The black and pink look cute.
