Braces????

i have bottom braces and a top expander on now, but in less than 2 weeks im getting my top braces and i was wondering does it hurt as bad as getting the bottom braces or more? alot of people at my school say all different things. i know that it doesnt hurt right after you get them on but i know that in a few hours it does.


also: what foods would be good to have in the hours of having them on?


AND


when your in your last stage of braces and you have to wear elastics, what is it like? does it hurt, is it annoying? can you be specific please?

for fodds i'd eat soup,pudding,ect.





i had to wear elastics towards the end at first they hurt your jaw but then i got use to it, yeah they are annoying even after a year i still find small rubber bands around my room, and they are annoying by you have to take the rubber bands out everytime you eat and then when your done you have to put them back on
Reply:be happy that your only getting your top braces I have to get surgery on two upper teeth that are in my gums soon! and getting your top braces for me hurt less than the bottom....the only time that braces hurt...well not really the braces...i was at the orthodontist and the nurse who wasn't paying attention accidentally poked the wire through my skin instead of my braces! i was sooooooo mad! well gd luck with braces! and don't be too scared because there is nothing to be scared about! :)
Reply:lol dont stress. i got my braces put on yesterday. it feels the same way it did when u got ur bottom braces put on. ice cream, milkshakes, anything thats cold and u dont have to chew is good, they dont hurt rite away, but they will for the next couple of days!
Reply:the bottom ones actually hurt more than the top do. you should eat soft foods like soup or yogurt or mashed potatoes [if you can] during the first hours. im not in my ast stage seeing as how i juszt got them on but i heard they hurt sorry i couldnt help w/ this part. Good luck.!
