Braces????

ok so im 15 1/2 and i was told by my dentist that i need braces but its not urgent or anything and its my decision. basically i have a deep bite and my front two teeth arent that straight but other than that all my teeth are straight. he said that i would need them on for 18 months to two years and possibly less.


i want to get braces...well kinda because i probably won't get them off until my senior year but i want my teeth to be straight but my parents said no because its too expensive and not urgent. i really just want 2 get them on pronto (how long does it take for the braces to come in after u take impressions?) but my parents won't let me. what should i do??





it completely sucks because i have to have them on for prom and hc and stuff and i definately can't get invisaline cuz its wayy too expensive and as for the ceremic ones do they stain a lot??





and any suggestions on how to convince my parents? (sry if this is too long!)

heyy okay well after they took the impressions it took about 2 weeks for me to get them on. and then i dont think it would be that good to have them on for graduation.. unless you really want to.. and i have no idea how to convince your parents. im sorry, good luck!

Reply:Usually your dental insurance will cover up to $1000 of braces if you are under 19...you parents will ultimately make the final decision. My parents said the same thing when I was younger, then they got divorced so I never got them. When I turned 22 I finally had them put on, the traditional ones, and it cost me $5000...that was only 2 years ago. After they take the impressions, it only takes a couple weeks for them to know what they are going to be doing.
Reply:well i have my braces for 4 or 5 months evan less and my front and bottom teeth are cruked and my front teeth are super straight already but on the bottom theres only one toothe that needs straightining i have to have them on for 2 years and yea there totally expensive ask ur 'rents if there job has insurance for braces my braces cost $24,000 and with my dental issurance it reduces to 12,000 hope i helped
